Incoming Head Strategic Concepts and Warfare Development UK Ministry of DefenceBrigadier Matt Baker is Head of Warfare Development at the Integrated Warfare Centre and will become Head of Strategic Concepts & Warfare Development in Futures & Force Design in June. He commanded Operation ORBITAL (2022–2023), leading UK training support to Ukrainian forces. From 2019–2022, he oversaw land tactical doctrine and authored ADP Land Operations. As an Infantry CO, he led a NATO Spearhead Battle Group and commanded in Afghanistan. His career includes multiple staff roles, earlier operational tours, and advanced professional and academic qualifications from King’s College London and Cranfield University.
