Brigadier General Martin Jawurek

Chief of Strategy Austrian Ministry of Defence

Born in 1966 in Austria, Brigadier General Jawurek completed Military Academy in 1988, followed by his position as Platoon Leader/Infantry Regiment 37, and Commander Air Defence Company in 1944. He completed a General Staff Course at the National Defence Academy in 1997, where he went on to adopting position as Head Command Division and Chief of Staff in 2002. Following on from this, he has taken positions including Deputy Director Operations Preparation Division, Commander 18th InfBn, Commander of Military District in Lower Austria, and 2nd General Staff Officer of 7th Infantry Brigade. He served abroad with UNFICPY and EUFOR ALTHEA. Since 2025 he is director miltiary strategy division in the MOD in Vienna.
