REM Surface Engineering's ISF® Process is an aerospace isotropic superfinishing technology with particular strength in vertical lift drivetrain applications. The process creates a smooth, micro-textured surface on gears, shafts, bearings and related drivetrain components. The technology is utilized by platforms including the Sikorsky S-76 & S-92; the Bell 427, 429, & 525; and the Leonardo AW189 and has supported loss-of-lubricant tests that exceeded 60 minutes of operation due to decreases in wear/contact fatigue/operating temperature/vibrational noise and increases in load carrying capacity/scuffing resistance. The ISF Process has been validated to repair aerospace gears with light damage thereby reducing scrap rates and fleet sustainment costs. REM is global supplier and is AS9100 certified.
