VP Strategic Development Leonardo Helicopters

Steve assumed the role as global Head of International Military Strategic Initiatives for Leonardo Helicopters in 2023, following 2 years as VP UK Strategic Development. At a time of significant change in the mili-tary rotorcraft sector, Steve is seeking to help shape the future of crewed and uncrewed vertical lift for the next generation. Steve joined Leonardo after a 35 year operationally dominated first career in the Royal Navy, as rotary wing aircrew, a warfare officer and a staff officer. He has commanded various ships, aviation units and onshore organisations, culminating with 3 years as Commodore Fleet Air Arm and Programme Di-rector for the Queen Elizabeth Class aircraft carrier programme. He is a graduate of both the Royal College of Defence Studies and the Oxford University Major Projects Leadership Academy.
