Colonel Jayson Altieri

Colonel Jayson A. Altieri began his military service in 1984 as an enlisted Soldier in the 101st Airborne (Air Assault) Division. In 1989, he was commissioned as an Army Aviator. He has served in various assignments as a staff officer, platoon leader, company commander, and battalion commander with the 82nd Airborne Division, as well as assignments in Afghanistan, Ecuador, Iraq, Korea, and the Panama Canal Zone. Colonel Altieri’s previous staff assignment was as the Artillery, EOD, and C-IED Standardization Officer for the NATO Standardization Agency, NATO HQ, Brussels, Belgium. He recently commanded the 110th Aviation Brigade, U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence, Fort Rucker, Alabama. COL Altieri holds a BA from Norwich University, a MSS and MAS from the U.S. Air Force’s Air University, and a MA from the U.S. Army War College. He has been a contributing author on defense related matters to a number of publications including Armor, Aviation Digest, and The Armed Forces Journal. COL Altieri also as serves as the Chairman of the Board of Governors of the 52,000 member Civil Air Patrol Corporation, a federally charted non-profit organization that provides Aerospace Education, Cadet Programmes, and Emergency Services across the country. He previously served as the President of the Wiregrass Chapter of the Army Aviation Association of America (AAAA) and holds the AAAA’s Silver Order of Saint Michael. COL Altieri is a US Army Instructor Helicopter Pilot and Master Army Aviator with more than 3000 hours of flight time. He is rated in the OH-58, UH-1, UH-60, and TH-67 aircraft.
