Colonel Christian Guntsch

Advisor to the Air Chief for CH-47F German Air Force

Col Christian Guntsch joined the German Air Force in 1990. After finishing his studies of Aerospace Engineering at the German Armed Forces University in Munich, he started his flying career on helicopters (UH-1D, AS-532 Cougar) in various units in the German Air Force, ranging from Air Transport and VIP flights to MedEvac missions including operational assignments to Kosovo. During his flying career, he held command positions on Squadron as well as on Group level. Next to operational flying assignments, COL Guntsch has worked in staffs on all levels within the German Air Force, concentrating on the fields of rotary and fixed wing Air Transport and Operational Test and Evaluation. Furthermore, COL Guntsch was assigned to the German Ministry of Defence as a rotary wing SME and took a three-year tour as head of Mission Control at the European Air Transport Command in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. In January 2023 he was appointed Advisor of the Air Chief for the German CH-47F program.
