Major General Bogdan Rycerski

Major General Bogdan Rycerski was born on 6 December 1971 in Wohyń, Poland. He currently commands NATO’s Joint Force Training Centre in Bydgoszcz, a role he assumed on 30 September 2024. Commissioned in 1995, his career spans leadership at every level of Poland’s armoured and mechanised forces, including command of the 15th Mechanised Brigade and senior staff roles at the 10th Armoured Cavalry Brigade. Internationally, he served in Iraq and Afghanistan, holding key operational positions such as Deputy Chief of Staff and Contingent Deputy Commander. His education includes a master’s degree in Management and Command from the National Defence Academy, advanced operational-strategic training, and defence policy studies at the War Studies University. Known for his operational expertise and multinational experience, Major General Rycerski brings decades of leadership to NATO’s training mission.
