Rear Admiral Carlos Sardiello

Rear Adm. Carlos Sardiello is a native of Fremont, California, and a 1990 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy. He holds post-graduate degrees in Computer Science and National Security and Strategic Studies, he is a U.S. Navy Test Pilot School graduate of Class 115 and a 2021 MIT Seminar XXI Fellow. Landing on aircraft carriers for the past 29 years, his operational assignments include ying in the S-3B Viking as a junior o cer embarked aboard USS Nimitz (CVN 68) and department head on USS Constellation (CV 64). Transitioning to the P-3C Orion, he served as the 73rd commanding o cer of Patrol Squadron Four Six (VP 46), the "Grey Knights". He has completed Forward Deployed Naval Force tours homeported in Japan and Italy, as executive o cer onboard USS George Washington (CVN 73), commanding o cer on USS Mount Whitney (LCC 20) respectively. He then served as the 15th commanding o cer of USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71). Sardiello commanded Carrier Strike Group ONE from 03 May 2022 to 06 June 2024 completing an Indo Paci c deployment. He's logged over 2,800 ight hours and over 500 carrier arrested landings. His combat highlights include scoring the rst, and only strike, by an S-3B Viking with an air to ground missile on March 26, 2003. Shore tours also include duty as an S-3B instructor NFO at VS-41; J-6 action o cer on the Joint Staff; executive assistant to Commander Naval Air Forces, U.S. Paci c Fleet and director, Joint and Fleet Operations (N3) U.S. Fleet Forces Command. Sardiello assumed duties as commander, FOURTH Fleet in August 2024. He is a recipient of the Commander Naval Air Forces Leadership Award for 2008. He is entitled to wear the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal and other personal, unit and service awards
