Prior to joining the Royal Navy, Commander Mohummed ‘Cas’ Koheeallee studied for a BEng in Aerospace Systems Engineering at the University of Hertfordshire where he graduated with first class honours, and he also worked at MBDA as a systems engineer on the ASRAAM missile system. He joined the Service as a trainee pilot in January 2002. His time in aircrew training culminated during the operational flying training phase on 848 Naval Air Squadron flying the Sea King Mk4 and he subsequently transferred to the air engineering branch in 2007. Following assignments in 815 Naval Air Squadron, the Defence Science and Technology Labs, DE&S Uncrewed Air Systems Team and 1710 Naval Air Squadron Repair, he was promoted to Lieutenant Commander in 2014. He then served as Maritime Aviation Training Head at Royal Navy Air Engineering and Survival Equipment School followed by Air Engineer Officer of 824 Naval Air Squadron then Mechanical Engineering Authority for the Merlin Helicopter Family. Selected for promotion in 2019, he served a short tour as Senior Air Engineer of HMS Prince Of Wales before returning to DE&S Merlin Delivery Team to run the Merlin CROWSNEST accelerated certification project and Wildcat Future Air to Surface Guided Weapons certification project. Following Advanced Command and Staff Course, Commander Koheeallee worked as Technical Lead for the Rotary Wing Enterprise in support of the DE&S Helicopters Operating Centre initiative to improve aircraft availability for all military rotary wing platforms before assuming the role of Commander Air Engineer of the Commando Helicopter Force. He is currently employed in the Navy Develop Directorate leading the teams responsible for progressing unmanned air systems programmes within the Carrier Strike & Maritime Aviation portfolio from initiation to business case approval. During his career, he completed an MSc in Engineering Management studying future airborne sonar, he then embarked on a MSc in Defence Leadership and, most recently, completed an MA in Defence Studies with research into remote leadership. In his spare time, he is a keen motorcyclist and enjoys the serenity of stand-up-paddleboarding. However, with a 15-year-old daughter, Jaimilyn, a 12-year-old son, Aidan, and a feisty pooch, Rocky, spare time is very scarce. Cdr Koheeallee lives in Yeovil with his wife Penny and his children.
