Dinesh Rempling

Director of Capabilities Transformation Division FRONTEX - European Border and Coast Guard Agency

Mr Rempling has been at the core of futureproofing European Integrated Border Management since joining Frontex in 2017. A co-author of its first two Technical and Operational strategies alongside the Capability Roadmap for the European Border and Coast Guard, he played a key role in establishing the Standing Corps, the European Union's first uniformed service. He currently leads the Capability Transformation Division, delivering turn-key capability solutions to meet the operational needs of today while fostering systematic innovation to meet the requirements of tomorrow. With a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, he began his career at the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration in 2001, responsible for electrical systems on ships, submarines and amphibious craft – both existing and new-builds – and in 2008 joined the European Defence Agency, managing research activities on munitions, energy supply and the development of the first deployable European forensics capability to counter improvised explosive devices. Returning to Sweden in 2013, he worked at the Government Offices' Ministry of Defence, being responsible for the European defence research portfolio and campaign coordinator for bi-lateral cooperation on underwater capabilities.
