Tom Pfenning is Vice President, Business Development and Strategy for Northrop Grumman, Armament Systems Division headquartered in Plymouth, MN. Armament Systems Division develops, produces, and delivers superior armaments and services including medium and large caliber ammunition, the Bushmaster family of chain guns and automatic cannons, precision weapons, and a suite of guided projectiles. Tom is responsible for the leading strategic program pursuits and capture, expanding stakeholder engagements, and ensuring the division is positioned to grow and meet future customer product needs through innovation, continuous improvement, and development of integrated and effective product solutions.

Tom worked for over 30 years in the defense industry serving in multitude of roles including Business Development, Strategic Planning, Program portfolio Director, Program Management, Project Engineer, and Manager, Advanced Programs. Tom's diverse work experience included serving as design engineer for electromagnetic weapon systems; project engineer - Iron Dome program in Israel; project manager — U.S. Navy Mk 45 5-inch gun weapon system and guided projectile; project engineer — U.S. Army Bradley and Paladin programs; project manager — U.S. Army Crusader Program; program director — U.S. Navy DDG 1000 program; program director — precision weapons and munitions; and Business Development.

Tom is a graduate of the University of Minnesota, Institute of Technology, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering. Furthermore, Tom received a Master of Science degree in Management of Technology from the University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Business.
