Rob Handley

Chief PNT Scientist & PNT Fellow DSTL - UK MoD

Rob Handley is the Dstl Chief Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT) Scientist and PNT Fellow. Following graduation with a degree in Mathematics, Rob has pursued a lifelong career as a Defence PNT specialist - providing independent expert advice, modelling, performance evaluation and analysis of multi-sensor positioning systems in demanding NavWar environments. Within PNT, his greatest interest area is GNSS-independent positioning technology aka 'Alt-Nav'. He has led research into a diverse range of Alt-Nav techniques since before GPS was fully operational. Rob is a Chartered Mathematician, a Chartered Scientist and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Navigation.
