Major General José R. Pérez Pérez

Director of Acquisitions, Logistics Support Command (MALE) Spanish Army

Married and father of three children, Major General JOSE RAMON PEREZ PEREZ was born in Valladolid (Spain) on April 05 1963.

He joined the General Military Academy of Zaragoza in 1982 (XLII promotion), then he chose Infantry branch.

After three years of training at the General Military Academy of Zaragoza and two in the Infantry School in Toledo (1982 - 1987) he was promoted to Lieutenant on July 1987.

As a lieutenant he served in the 30th Infantry Regiment located in Vitoria and in the 3rd Tercio de la Legión D. “Juan de Austria” placed in Fuerteventura (Canary Islands).

He was promoted to captain on August 1991 and posted to the 14st Mechanized Infantry Regiment named “Tetuán” located in Castellón, as company commander.In January 1995 he was transferred to the 3th Infantry Regiment “Príncipe” in Oviedo as support company commander. During this period, he participated in the NATO mission for the former Yugoslavia in Trebinje (Servia) as intelligence officer of his battalion.

In November 1998 he joined the Army General Staff College (promotion 99th) and the 1st Combined Staff Course in the CESEDEN. He was promoted to major in July 1999 and graduated in July 2000.

As a major he he was assigned to the HQ of the Spanish Maneuver Force in May 2001 as staff officer, and he contributed in the building-up of the NRDC-ESP HQ (International HQ NATO force structure). He was posted successively as O&C plans chief, RSOM plans chief and short-term plans chief.

He was promoted to LtCol in 2007. Being NRDC-ESP staff officer he participated in NATO Pakistan relief operation (RSOM chief) an in the UN Lebanon operation as liaison officer (LNO).

He is appointed as battalion commander of the Light Infantry Battalion “Toledo” in April 2010, being part of the “Principe” Regiment of the “Galicia” VII Brigade. He participated as Battalion commander in ASPFOR XXXII mission at Bagdhis Region of the RC-WEST in Afghanistan. After his command tour he was assigned as plans chief of HQ CGTAD in Valencia.

He is promoted to colonel In July 2014 ant posted as regiment commander of the “Palma 47” Regiment in Palma de Mallorca. After two years of command, he was assigned to the Army General Inspection (IGE) in Barcelona for 6 months.

He was auditor of the 67nd Session of the Centre of Advance Military Studies (Centre De Haute Études Militaire - CHEM) and the 70th session of the Institute of Advanced Studies in National Defence (Institut des Hautes Études de Défense Nationale - IHEDN), in Paris (France).

He was promoted to Brigadier General on March the 2nd in 2018 and he was posted as Weapons Systems Subdirector in the Spanish Army Logistic Command (MALE).

He was promoted to Major General on December 15th in 2020 and he was posted as Acquisitions Director in the Spanish Army Logistic Command (MALE).
