Col (Ret.) Nick Hunter

Nick Hunter is the leader of the Rheinmetall UK hub. He served as a senior officer in the British Army’s Royal Armoured Corps completing 26 years’ service. He commanded tank squadrons for the entry into Kosovo and on operations in Iraq and fulfilled other posts on operations in Northern Ireland and Bosnia; also leading the team responsible for the roll out of Forward Operating Base security surveillance systems in Afghanistan. He commanded the UKs Reserve armoured reconnaissance regiment mobilising individual reinforcements to man the base surveillance systems deployed in Afghanistan. Post command he moved into the acquisition stream spending time in the MoD as the lead for Mounted Close Combat in Capability Ground Manoeuvre. He then spent 6 years in DE&S in the AJAX team as the deputy programme leader and programme leader before leaving the Army in 2016. On leaving the Army he joined General Dynamics Land Systems UK re-developing the Merthyr Tydfil factory site before joining the programme team where he was responsible for training, initial in-service support and one of the major supplier contracts. He moved to Rheinmetall UK in 2020.
