Brigadier Tim Symonds

Head Efficiency, Head Climate Change and Sustainability British Army

Over a 27-year career, Brigadier Tim has broad operational experience including deployments to the Balkans, Iraq, and three tours of Afghanistan. In more recent strategic leadership appointments, he has focused on organisational and cultural change in various roles in Army Headquarters and in the MOD Main Building in London. He is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport and the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. He has an MA from Kings College London and is currently enrolled on the postgraduate programme at the Cambridge University Institute for Sustainability Leadership.

Hybrid electric drive presents new opportu-nities and challenges for armoured fleets as they explore its applications. This session will look at current trials and testing, and poten-tial advancements to discuss the impact of such technology on questions including fuel policy and interoperability.
