Al Mosher, Colonel (USA RET), retired from the US Army after an exemplary military career spanning over 26 years. Upon his graduation from the US Military Academy at West Point in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Al went on to earn three masters degrees in Administration and Military Arts and Sciences. His extensive military education includes the Command and General Staff College, School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS), the Joint Service Staff College, and the US Army War College SAMS Fellowship. Starting in 1982 as a Tank Platoon Leader, Al went on to assume many different command, planning, and staff officer positions in Armored Cavalry, Infantry, and Tank units, leading to a Tank Battalion Commander position from 1998-2000. Al received many distinguished service, meritorious, and achievement awards. He served tours of duty across the US, Korea, Germany, Iraq, and Afghanistan. His battalion, as part of the US Army Force XXI initiative, was one of the first units equipped with the US Army’s FBCB2 situational awareness (SA), command and control (C2), and blue force tracking (BFT) systems. His knowledge of the FBCB2 system from the early days and his role as an active user of the system led to his position as TRADOC Capabilities Manager for Platform Battle Command and Combat Identification in 2005. In this position, Al was very instrumental in shaping the requirements of the FBCB2 program as well as in defining the next generation of SA/C2 and BFT capabilities for the US Army and Joint Forces, for programs designated as Joint Battle Command – Platform (JBC-P) and for the Mounted – Family of Computer Systems (MFoCS). Upon his retirement from the US Army in 2008, Al joined DRS Tactical Systems and was the Director of Business Development and Strategy Lead for the Situational Awareness Campaign Line of Business which included the FBCB2, US Army Movement Tracking System (MTS), United Kingdom Bowman Battle Management System product lines from 2008-2010, the Director of Strategy and MFoCS Strategy Lead from 2010-2013, Director of Strategic Planning for Network Computing and Testing Solutions from 2013-2016, Senior Director of International Strategy 2016-2024, and he is currently the Vice President of International Business Development for DRS Land Electronics where he is focused on US, international, joint, and coalition battle management and mission command capabilities and applies his broad military experiences and unique user’s perspective in defining the next generation of C4/C5ISR and battlefield digitization capabilities and products. Al married Karen E. (Oberg) Mosher on 29 May 1982 who is also originally from Ware, Massachusetts. They have two sons Matthew and Thomas. Both graduated from West Point and are US Army Armor Captains.
