Colonel Klaus Schiefenbusch

Chief of Combat Division: Concepts and Capabilities Development Centre Bundeswehr

COL (GS) Schiefenbusch was born on March 22nd, 1957, in Goslar (Harz), enrolled in the German Army in 1976 and attended Armour Officer Training from 1976 – 1979.
Upon completion of his training he served as tank platoon commander, battalion signal officer, battalion intelligence officer and tank company commander. After an assignment at HQ 1st Armd Div he attended the 32nd General Staff Officer Course (Army) at the Command & Staff College.
Thereafter he served as G2 of HQ 1st Armd Div, attended the US Command and General Staff Course and served as G3 of HQ 9th Armd Bde. From 1997 –1999 he was commander of 393 Tank Battalion.
Afterwards he served as an assistant branch chief of German MOD, as course director for general/admiral staff officer courses at the Command & Staff College and as division head G5 Plans & Policy at HQ Allied Land Component Command, Heidelberg. From 2008 – 2013 he was appointed to German Army Office as branch chief. He holds his present appointment as ACOS Combat of Army Concepts and Capabilities Development Center since 2013.
COL (GS) Schiefenbusch is married to Birgit, they have two sons.
