Garry joined the RAF in 1997 and spent much of his early career supporting air operations in the middle east. In 2006 he transferred to the Royal Navy where he trained as a Weapon Engineering Artificer serving on Type 22 and Type 23 frigates before leaving in 2019 to join Dstl as a Gun Systems Engineer. A member of the Joint Ballistics Working Group of the JBMoU, as well as the Anglo-Netherlands-Norwegian Collaboration Programme Working Group 3 (ANNCP-WG3) on indirect Fires and Chair of the General Weapons Expert Panel of the Weapon Sector Research Framework (WSRF). Garry has supported Operational Analysis for the UK’s Mobile Fires Platform (MFP),Technical Development of the CT-40 Cannon and The Lightweight Fires Platform (LFP) project as well as acting as Dstl’s deputy Technical Lead for the WSRF.
