Colonel Willem De Bruyn

Colonel Wim De Bruyn is Chief Future Plans within the J3 Joint Fires & Effects Branch at NATO Joint Force Command Brunssum. A Belgian Army artillery officer with more than 35 years of service, he has built extensive experience in joint fires, targeting, operational planning, capability development, and multinational integration. His career spans command and staff appointments in Belgian Defence, the Netherlands Defence Staff, NATO, and Belgian Special Operations Command. Previous roles include Chief of Staff/Deputy Commander of Belgian SOCOM, Chief Integration at the Belgian Defence Staff, Capability Planner in the Netherlands Defence Staff, and Deputy Commander of a multinational artillery battalion supporting the NRF/VJTF construct. He has operational experience in Kosovo, Albania, Rwanda, and as a UN military observer in the Middle East. Colonel De Bruyn regularly works on the operational integration of joint fires, targeting, and multi-domain effects in support of Alliance planning and deterrence
