Biography Colonel Michael A. Villumsen Commander Danish Artillery Regiment Michael A. Villumsen was born 5th of June 1964. He joined the Danish Army in 1984. After completing his education at the Army Officers Academy in 1989 he was commissioned into the Danish Artillery where he served as platoon leader, battery commander and battalion commander. In 1999 he graduated from the General Staff Officers Course at the Danish Defense Academy followed by a number of staff appointments at Army HQ level. In 2019 he graduated from Senior Course at NATO Defense College, Rome. Colonel Villumsen has served in various positions in Denmark and abroad including duty as Military Assistant to Commander Army Operational Command, Chief of Staff Army Command and two deployments to Afghanistan. Since 2022 Colonel Villumsen has served as Artillery Inspector and Commander Danish Artillery Regiment as well as commander of Oksbøl Barracks. Colonel Villumsen is married, has two children (Jonas *92, Stine *97) and enjoys his longer motorcycle journeys in various European countries.
