COL Johnson is a native of Carrollton, Texas, and enlisted in the Army in January 1997. In August 1999, she was accepted into the Army ROTC Green-to-Gold program at Virginia State University. In December 2001, COL Johnson was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Finance Corps, initially branch-detailed to Field Artillery. Her previous operational assignments include Battery Executive Officer, the United States Army Field Artillery Training Center; Detachment Executive Officer, 15th Finance Battalion, Fort Sill, OK; Assistant Deputy, Defense Military Pay Office (DMPO), Fort Benning, GA; Commander, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, Fort Benning Garrison Command; Fort Benning, GA; and Deputy Resource Manager, 501st Military Intelligence Brigade, Yongsan, Korea. COL Johnson joined Joint Program Executive Office Armaments & Ammunition (JPEO A&A) after attending Senior Service College at the National Defense University’s Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy. Previously, she served as the Assistant Executive Officer for the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics and Technology (ASA(ALT)) from 2022 to 2023. Prior to that, she was the Yuma Test Center Director for the United States Army Test and Evaluation Command from 2019 to 2022. Other past roles she has held in Army acquisition include Military Deputy Director, Survivability Evaluation Directorate at the Army Evaluation Center from 2017 to 2019; Assistant Product Manager, Capability Package Directorate at System of System Engineering and Integration (SoSEI) from 2015 to 2017, Contracting Officer at the Defense Contract Management Agency from 2012 to 2015; and Assistant Product Manager, Common Remotely Operated Weapon Station (CROWS) at PEO Soldier Weapons from 2010 to 2012. Her military education includes the Field Artillery Officer Basic Course, Financial Management Captain’s Career Course, Acquisition Basic and Intermediate Qualification Courses, the Command and General Staff College, and the Eisenhower School for the National Security and Resources Strategy. COL Johnson holds a B.S. in Computer Information Systems from Virginia State University, a M.A. in Human Resource Management from Webster University, and an M.S. in National Security and Resourcing with a Senior Acquisition concentration from the National Defense University’s Eisenhower School. Her decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (five oak leaf clusters), Army Commendation Medal (three oak leaf clusters), Army Achievement Medal (three oak leaf clusters), NATO Defense Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, and Korean Defense Service Medal. COL Johnson is married to Janice Talley. They have three children; Talley(26), Mareshah, (25), and David (23).
