Lieutenant Commander Tiago Miguel Cunha Gomes is an officer in the Portuguese Navy and currently serves as Project Management Officer (PMO) in the Directorate of Ships. His responsibilities include managing the project portfolio related to the maintenance and modernization of naval platforms. After graduating from the Portuguese Naval Academy, Tiago served aboard surface ships, where he gained initial experience in naval operations. He later transitioned to submarines, completing a specialization in submarine systems. This allowed him to work on both surface and submarine projects, focusing on maintenance and modernization to improve the fleet’s readiness and performance. With a certification in project management, Tiago applies practical approaches to ensure projects are delivered effectively within available resources. His work supports the Navy's efforts to maintain operational capabilities and meet modernization goals. Tiago approaches his role with a focus on problem-solving, resource management, and collaboration, aiming to contribute to the operational effectiveness of the Portuguese Navy.
