Lieutenant Colonel Mark Van Baal

Lieutenant Colonel Mark Van Baal is leading the Defence Expertise Centre for Soldier Systems in the Netherlands. He started his military career in the Long Range Reconnaissance Patrols in 1991 and grew in the ranks within Netherlands Army SOF- unit Korps Commandotroepen (KCT), where he has served for eight tours in the Balkans, Eastern Europe, Afghanistan and Iraq. After a period of fifteen years in the teams he worked in different staff and command positions in operations, training, intelligence and knowledge & innovation in the NLD SOCOM. The last eight years he has been working on Soldier Systems for SOF and later the Defence organisation in general.
