Steve Patrick is a transformational business executive who effectively leads the people, processes, plans and strategies for Bombardier’s Specialized Aircraft division. As Vice President of Operations, Programs and Business Development, he works closely with his team to manage the delivery of specialized aircraft programs. He promotes a broad range of products for special mission applications including surveillance, medical evacuation, humanitarian relief, communications and maritime patrol. Steve also champions all facets of business development, program management, engineering, manufacturing, testing and support, overseeing diverse teams in Wichita, Kansas, and Montreal, Canada. Since joining the company in 1997, Steve has held numerous key leadership roles across multiple business units. Before assuming leadership of Specialized Aircraft, he served as Director of the Global 7000 aircraft and C Series Flight Test teams, leading over 500 engineers, pilots, mechanics, quality inspectors and project managers to drive the overall execution of flight test development and certification, achieving first flight for the Global 7000 aircraft (now known as the Global 7500 aircraft) and flight test certification for the C Series. In previous roles, Steve directed a highly skilled team for the Learjet product line, guiding the entry into service for the Learjet 70/75 aircraft. He also led a team of 200 engineers to oversee the successful entry into service for the Bombardier CRJ-1000 aircraft, while supporting over 1,500 in-service CRJ aircraft. Earlier in his career, Steve spent a few years with an entrepreneurial startup developing the Adam A500 piston aircraft and Adam A700 very light jet. He also served as a senior flight test engineer for BAE Systems, focused primarily on Tornado GR1 weapon systems programs in the United States and United Kingdom. Steve graduated from The University of Ulster, in Northern Ireland, where he earned his Bachelor of Technology in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. He later attended the University of Lancaster where he attained a post-graduate certificate in management studies. Most recently, he earned a 150-hour CORe Credential of Readiness certification from Harvard Business School. He has also completed extensive pilot training. Steve lives in Wichita, Kansas, with his wife, Alysia, and their two dogs.
