Commander Víctor Manuel Romero Sevilla

Head of Operations, Spanish Navy Diving Centre Spanish Navy

Born in Murcia (Spain), Commander Romero joined the Navy in September 1993 and was promoted to the rank of ensign in 1996. He has served on board the amphibious vessel 'Pizarro', has been a diving instructor at the Military Diving School, second-in-command of the Mine Warfare Diving Unit, Head of Logistics for the Special Naval Warfare Force, Commander of the Mine Warfare Diving Unit, and officer in the Foreign Relations Section of the Navy General Staff. He has participated in operations in the former Yugoslavia and Iraq. He is a deep-sea diver, a combat diver, an underwater EOD and a PE teacher at the Central School of Physical Education in Toledo. He has also completed basic and advanced courses in teaching methodology, parachuting, diving in subarctic environments, the IED Course 'Attack the Network', the IED Course 'Staff Officer' and the IED Course 'Maritime Interdiction Operations'. Since August 2025, he has held the post of second-in-command of the Spanish Navy Diving Centre. He is married to María del Mar and has two children.
