LtCol Dr. Erik Frijters is a Senior Flight Surgeon and Physiologist in the Royal Netherlands Air and Space Force. He serves at the Center for Man and Aviation in Soesterberg, where he leads the Department for Operational Training and Readiness and oversees Human Factors research.
He is an active contributor to NATO/STO multinational research efforts and is engaged in innovations in physiological monitoring and aeromedical science. LtCol Frijters also serves as Chairman of the Dutch Society for Aerospace Medicine (NVvLG) and is a frequent presenter at international aeromedical conferences. Over the course of his career, he has deployed three times: once as Senior Medical Officer to Afghanistan and twice to Mali in support of Aeromedical Evacuation operations.
