Frederic Dehais

Frédéric Dehais received his PhD in Cognitive Science from ONERA (Toulouse, France) in 2004 and has been a full professor at ISAE-SUPAERO (University of Toulouse, France) since 2012, where he holds the prestigious 20-year AXA Chair in Neuroergonomics—one of fewer than 30 such chairs worldwide. He leads the Human Factors and Neuroergonomics Department, a group of 25 researchers in AI, neuroscience, and human factors. His team conducts pioneering experiments in real flight conditions using advanced portable brain imaging and AI to investigate pilots performance in complex, real-world environments. Under his leadership, the group has become a key contributor to flight safety research and was awarded the "2019 Commercial Aviation Safety Laureate" by Aviation Week. Prof. Dehais has authored over 200 scientific publications and holds 5 international patents. He serves as co-chair of the International Neuroergonomics Conference and co-editor-in-chief of the Journal of Neuroergonomics. He is also the co-founder of Hinfact, a spin-off company dedicated to deploying monitoring technologies for safer operations.
