Colonel Daniel “James” Pfiffner
Commander Swiss Air Force Pilot School
As commander of the Pilot School, Colonel Daniel Pfiffner is responsible for the selection and training of all Swiss Airforce pilots. After completing his fighter jet flight training, he joined Squadron 11 in Dübendorf and, in addition to his duties as a squadron pilot, also became flight instructor for basic and advanced training.
Following a stage with the national Flag carrier Swissair, he held various positions at the Pilot School and has been its commander since 2022. Daniel Pfiffner besides holds a bachelor's degree in business administration. He has more than 5,500 hours of flying experience on jet aircraft, Pilatus PC-7, SEP, MEP and Airbus 320, and also holds an ATPL as well as a military and civil examiner licence.
