Brig. Gen. Paolo RUBINO attended the Air Force Academy with the “PEGASO IV” Course and, after obtaining the full military qualification at the Naval Flying Officer School in Pensacola (Florida, USA), he was assigned, in November 1999, to the 154th Squadron at the 6th Wing in Ghedi (Brescia), Italy.

From July 2004 till April 2005 he served at the Italian Air Force Staff – Strategic Plans. From April till June 2009 he participated to the “International Security and Assistance Force – (ISAF)” as Task Group Commander at Mazar-El-Sharif Air Base (Afghanistan). In 2011 he participated to operation “Unified Protector” in support of Libya population as Task Group Commander at Trapani Air Base, Italy. From September 2011 till July 2012 he served as 154th Squadron Commander at the 6th Wing in Ghedi (Brescia), Italy. From August 2012 till July 2015 he was assigned to the Supreme Headquarters of Allied Powers in Europe (SHAPE) in Belgium where he worked at the Operations and Intelligence Division of the Allied Command for Operations (ACO).

From September 2015 till September 2017 he served as Deputy for Operations at 6th Wing in Ghedi (Brescia), Italy. From September 2017 till March 2019 he was assigned to the Italian Air Force Forces Command in Rome, Italy as Deputy Chief – Operations Office. From April 2019 till November 2019 he served

Since 5th August 2025 he has been appointed as Chief of Staff of the Air Education Training Command/3rd Air Region and Head of the International Flight Training School (IFTS) Program Office.

Brig. Gen. Paolo RUBINO has flown approximately 2500 flight hours, of which 2300 on the Tornado IDS (Interdiction Defence Strike) aircraft.
