Major Damian Gant

Major Damian Gant began his military career in 2PARA in 2007 where he deployed on Op HERRICK 8 as a private soldier in 2008. Having been selected to pursue an Officers career, he Commissioned from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in 2012 and joined 3rd Battalion the Parachute Regiment (3 PARA) upon completion of the Platoon Commanders Battle Course at Infantry Battle School, Brecon in 2013. Throughout his Commissioned career, he has been a platoon commander in 3 PARA and at the Infantry Training Centre Catterick, training the next generation of Parachute Regiment soldiers. He returned to 3 PARA in 2016 to assume the role of Mortar platoon commander. Following 2 years as Mortar Platoon commander, he returned to Afghanistan in a mentoring role as SO2 Leadership at the Afghan National Army Officers academy in 2018 before returning to 3 PARA and resuming the role of OC 3 PARA Mortars. Major Gant assumed command of 3 PARA Support Company in 2019 through to 2021. He attended ICSC in 2021 before becoming Mortar Division Chief Instructor at the Combined Arms Manoeuvre School in April 2022.
