Lieutenant Colonel Wouter Jan Holleman

Lt Col W.J. Holleman started in June 2022 with his current position as Commander of the Knowledge Centre for Ground based Manoevre. This KC develops, shares and secures knowledge about manoeuvre warfighting in order to ensure that the combat units of the Royal Netherlands Army (RNLA) have the equipment and doctrine they need to carry out their tasks in connection with readiness and possible deployment.’ In this role he is one of the key-advisors to the RNLA HQ amongst others in regard to the use of mortars by Infantry battalions. As a Cavalry officer he began his career, after commissioning from the Royal Netherlands Military Academy in Breda, as a tank platoon commander and later as 2ndIC of a Tank squadron (LEO2A6NL). As a staff officer he served in Cavalry reconnaissance units followed by his appointment as Commandant of a Reconnaissance Squadron. He completed two tours to Afghanistan, Uruzgan Province, and got his Master’s degree after graduating from the General Command and Staff College (NLD) in 2020.
