Major General Julien Sabéné

Major General Julien Sabéné is Deputy Commander of the French Air Defence and Air Operations Command, bringing more than three decades of operational and strategic experience in air and space power. A graduate of the French Air Force Academy, he earned his fighter pilot wings in 1994 and has accumulated over 3,000 flying hours, including 12 combat missions. Major General Julien Sabéné has held a wide range of command and staff roles across the French Air and Space Force. Leadership appointments include command of the Nice Mont-Agel Detection and Control Center, Air Base Djibouti, and the 2/2 "Côte d'Or" squadron, as well as key operational roles such as Head of the National Operations Center. At the strategic level, he served as Director of the Centre for Air and Space Strategic Studies and Chief of Staff of the Air Forces Command. Major General Julien Sabéné also held senior positions within the French Ministry of Armed Forces, including work within the General Secretariat for Defence and National Security. Major General Julien Sabéné has extensive operational experience, including deployments in Italy, the United States, and Syria, and continues to play a central role in shaping France's air and space operations.
