Ryan Tettamanti

Ryan Tettamanti joined the Canadian Coast Guard in 2016 following an accomplished 23-year career with the Royal Canadian Navy. He began his naval service at the Royal Military College of Canada, graduating in 1997 with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Politics and Economics. Throughout his naval career, Ryan participated in multiple high-profile operations, including Operation Apollo, Canada's contribution to the international campaign against terrorism post-9/11; deployments with the Standing NATO Maritime Group; and Operation Mobile off the coast of Libya, enforcing United Nations Security Council resolutions.

Ryan also attended the Joint Command and Staff Programme at the Canadian Forces College where he earned a Masters of Defence Studies, conferred by the Royal Military College of Canada. Upon joining the Canadian Coast Guard, Ryan held several managerial positions in Operational Business and Incident Management from 2016 to 2017, followed by assignments as Acting Director, Incident Management and Maritime Security from 2018 to 2019. He was appointed Director, Operational Planning in 2019 and promoted to Senior Director, Fleet Requirements and Support in 2022. In June 2024, Ryan assumed the role of Senior Director, Fleet Force Development, and as of December 2025, he serves as Senior Director, Maritime Security Force Development, where he leads the development of operational requirements to implement the Coast Guard's enhanced security mandate.
