Director Sustainment Business Development, Europe Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company

Nicholas A. Smythe is the Business Development Director, Europe for Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company. In this capacity, he is responsible for leading the Sustainment Campaign and Capture Portfolio for the European Region, to include Israel across C-130, F-16, F-35 and UAS Platforms. Nick is responsible for the development of regional support for international customers that best satisfies national requirements at an affordable cost to optimize the sustainment infrastructure in the region. A Lockheed Martin employee for 19 years, Mr. Smythe’s previous roles include securing orders for numerous domestic and international C-130J customers as well as various leadership roles within Finance and Program Management supporting Sustainment Operations including critical roles in the start-up of the Royal Air Force Hercules Integrated Operational Support Program and the capture of the Royal Australian Air Force Through Life Support Program. Mr. Smythe holds a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Loyola University New Orleans and a master’s degree in International Affairs from The Georgia Institute of Technology. Mr. Smythe is an avid runner, fisherman, husband and father to four children as well as an active member of the Atlanta Track Club.
