The fifth edition of the Additive Manufacturing for Aerospace and Space conference gathered in February 2019 over 200 AM users, R&D experts and industry partners within the aerospace and space industry. Chaired by Paul Evans, Head of Manufacturing Technologies and Processes, Airbus Group and Jason Gilmore, New Product and R&D Technical Lead, Airbus Defence and Space, the conference agenda featured presentations from BAE Systems, Boeing, EASA, the UK Additive Manufacturing Strategy Steering Group, Thales, ESA, Launcher, the Manufacturing Technology Centre and many more. The attendees were invited to visit Airbus Defence and Space’s Stevenage facility, where they had the possibility to learn more about the design and manufacture of their advanced satellites and systems, and get the chance to see the European Space Agency’s ExoMars rover in the Mars yard.

Additive Manufacturing Aerospace and Space 2020 will take place on 25-27 February 2020 in Birmingham, which is part of the Midlands aerospace cluster, with the region home to over 25% of UK aerospace industry, 7% of Europe’s and 3% of the global market. With Siemens/Material Solutions as the lead event partner, the 2020 conference will include a site visit to the Siemens/Material Solutions state-of-the-art printing facility.
