Anti Piracy efforts are currently underway within Southeast Asia. Eric speaks to past, current and future threats with the surge in piracy. Eric discusses his findings over the past decade in the Southeast Asia Area:
- Rise of attacks between 2001-2004
- Decline between 2004-2008
- The revival of attacks from 2008-2009
Eric Frécon is currently post-doctoral fellow at the Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS) of the Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies (IDSS) in Singapore. He was in charge of studies at the Centre for Advanced Marine Studies in France and won the “Young Journalist” award of the Hachette Foundation in 2001.
