Lt Snorre Greil is a navigation officer in the Icelandic Coast Guard and he gives us a sneak peak at Iceland's newest OPV - direct from Chile. Iceland's Coast Guard boasts a large remit: within the Icelandic EEZ, they are responsible for patrolling some 754,000 square kms. Its Maritime SAR area of responsibility is, in fact, much larger - 1.9 million square kms. Policing duties comprise a significant component of patrolling missions and the enforcement of maritime law will become more manageable when Iceland takes delivery of its newest OPV this year. Watch to find out what specs will be available on this new platform.
