Brazil's PROSUPER navy modernization project on course with team led by ECOVIX

ENGEVIX (EGX) and its subsidiary ECOVIX (ECX) of Brazil have joined forces with THYSSENKRUPP MARINE SYSTEMS (TKMS) and BLOHM & VOSS NAVAL of Germany to develop the PROSUPER project for modernization of the Brazilian Navy surface vessel fleet, based on innovative and most modern ship designs and highest technical standards from both countries.

The CEOs of EGX, Mr. Gerson de Mello Almada and TKMS, Dr. Hans-Christoph Atzpodien confirmed, Monday 21 May, their intention to team up for the project PROSUPER, being 5 Offshore Patrol Vessels, 5 Escort Vessels and 1 Logistic Supply Vessel to be built in Brazil for the Brazilian Navy.

EGX/ECX will contribute with their shipyard operations in Rio Grande and their considerable expertise in the handling of national projects of relevant sizes in Brazil. TKMS through Blohm+Voss Naval will provide their technical knowledge and longtime experience in ship design and shipbuilding, as well as the proven references in Technology Transfer for the local construction of naval vessels and through life support to Brazil.

Together both partners will achieve a maximum of the intended benefits of the project PROSUPER, especially the supply of unrivaled high-tech vessels for the Brazilian Navy as well as the full Technology and Know-How transfer for the Brazilian shipbuilding industry to build such vessels in Brazil and jointly establish a long lasting naval technology base in Brazil as partners for the Brazilian Navy.
