Italian Navy gets $7.8 billion to acquire 10 new ships

The Italian Navy has plans to build 10 new ships over the next decade with an investment of €5.8 billion ($7.8 billion) out of the national budget, Navy chief Adm. Giuseppe De Giorgi told Defense News in an interview. De Giorgi expects the funds will cover the acquisition of eight multipurpose ships, one amphibious ship and one logistics
