Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Kris Muench is a 35 veteran of military and civil service in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Intelligence Community (USIC). He is currently the Army Threat Integration Staff Officer (TISO) for Close Combat, where he leads intelligence support for acquisition for dismounted forces and small units. He recently returned from a detail assignment with the U.S. Office of the Director of National Intelligence, where he led the USIC’s authoritative net assessment on China’s “whole of society” intelligence system. He has been involved with the development of Unmanned Aerial Systems since their earliest testing and fielding in the mid-1990s. LTC Muench’s education includes a Bachelor of Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania, a Master of Public Administration from Georgia State University, and a Master of Science and Technology Intelligence from the National Intelligence University.
