Lieutenant Colonel Adrian Scarlat

Officer in Charge UAS Class II and III Romanian Land Forces

Lieutenant Colonel Adrian SCARLAT is an active-duty Romanian Army officer with more than 20 years of military service and extensive experience in operations, leadership, and staff assignments. A graduate of the Romanian Land Forces Academy in Sibiu, he served approximately 15 years with Romanian Special Operations Forces, including two deployments to Afghanistan. He has extensive experience in NATO and multinational operations, exercises, training, and professional military education, supporting interoperability and multinational cooperation.

In 2023, LTC SCARLAT commanded the Romanian SOF Task Group supporting NATO's Very High Readiness Joint Task Force (VJTF). He currently serves at Romanian Land Forces Headquarters in the Operations and Training Department, Army Aviation Section, focusing on operational planning, capability development, emerging technologies, and Romania's contribution to NATO deterrence and defence on the Eastern Flank. His expertise includes UAS/C-UAS, ISR, targeting, and autonomous systems.

He graduated as valedictorian of the 2025 class at Romania's National Defence University "Carol I" and holds an Intelligence Master's degree.
