Colonel Kevin Easter

COL Kevin Easter is a native of Toledo, Ohio where he received his commission from the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps at the University of Toledo in 2000. After a brief educational delay to attend law school, he attended the Aviation Officer Basic Course and earned his Army Aviator wings as an AH-64D Apache Pilot in 2004. Over the past 22 years, COL Easter served in a variety of tactical and operational level assignments to include five deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq. His most recent command assignment was at Joint Base Lewis McChord where he commanded the 1-229th Attack Battalion from 2021-2023. He deployed as an Attack Platoon Leader in A/2-101st Aviation Regiment (FCKY), a Company Commander, C/1-1 Attack Reconnaissance Battalion (FRKS), Flight Commander, 3 REGT Army Air Corps (UK); and Aviation Task Force Operations Officer, 1-82nd Attack Reconnaissance Battalion (FBNC). Key and developmental assignments include, the Deputy G35 Planner for the NATO Rapid Deployable Corps – Spain, Executive Officer, 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade; and Exchange Officer – 16th Air Assault Brigade, UK Attack Helicopter Force. COL Easter currently serves as the Deputy Director, DAMO-AV, HQDA G-3/5/7 at the Pentagon. COL Easter’s awards and decorations are consistent with an Army Aviation Officer of 23 years’ experience. He is a Master Army Aviator with over 3000 flight hours. COL Easter holds a BA in Political Science and an MA in Security Studies from Kansas State University. He is a graduate from the National War College, the Command and General Staff College, and various other professional courses. COL Easter and his wife Alisa, a nurse practitioner, have been married for 25-years. They have two children Reagan (22 years) and Braxton (15 years).
