Andrew Maloney

Head of Technology & Chief Engineer IDV

Andrew is the Head of Technology and Chief Engineer at IDV Robotics where he is currently responsible for the technical direction of uncrewed systems development. He has over 30 years’ experience leading the research and development of robotic and autonomous systems for both defence and civil applications. His current focus is on development of integrated uncrewed ground systems and programmes involving the VIKING multirole UGV, AI based autonomy, Modular Autonomous Control Equipment (MACE) and the ATLAS GNSS denied navigation system. Previously Andrew spent 9 years as the Chief Engineer for Defence and Uncrewed Ground Vehicles at HORIBA MIRA and before that worked for Aerospace and Defence Primes and the UK MOD. Andrew studied Aeronautics, Astronautics and a Masters in Aerospace Systems Engineering at the University of Southampton.
