Through the range of Caimen Landing craft which range from 25m to 75m, BMT offers a wide range of capabilities, whether it is for Ship to Shore, or Shore to Shore operations, the vessels offer the right capabilities for modern amphibious forces. Our team has surpassed expectations and developed a concept that offers the optimum balance between performance and payload carrying ability. Extensive testing has been carried out by our experts so that all the data we produce is of the highest level of accuracy. The Caimen hull design is about to enter service with the US Army as part of the Manoeuvre Support Vessel (Light) programme. The first vessel build started in September 2019. The vessel will significantly improve the existing capabilities and provides the optimal combination of performance, operational flexibility and life cycle costs whilst being both reliable and versatile. The Caimen design draws on BMT’s extensive landing craft design experience and is characterised by a significant speed improvement from previous landing craft vessels, providing the strategic advantage necessary in a denied combat zone. The Caimen design also offers a range of options for the ramp and connectors. Through extensive detailed design effort, our team can offer innovative solutions for the transfer of heavy vehicles across challenging beach gradients.
