Lieutenant Colonel James 'JJ' Alder

Land Complex Weapons Programme Director UK MoD

Lt Col James (JJ) Alder has served over 20 years as a Royal Artillery officer in the British Army. In his early career JJ trained as an air defence operations officer, served in numerous surface-to-surface fires roles and spent much time in the counter rockets, artillery and mortars role, serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. In recent years JJ has worked in Capability and Acquisition posts and is currently the Programme Director for Land Complex Weapons in the UK MOD, working closely with UK delivery organisations and industry to develop, deploy and support the UK’s GBAD munitions.
