General Sir James Everard - Former Deputy Supreme Allied Command Europe (2017 – 2020)

General Sir James Everard was commissioned into the 17th/21st Lancers in 1983 equipped with the Chieftain and later Challenger Main Battle Tank.

He commanded The Queen’s Royal Lancers, 20th Armoured Brigade, the 3rd (UK) Division, and was the Commander of the UK Field Army. He also served in the UK MOD, as Assistant Chief of the General Staff and Deputy Chief of the Defence Staff (Military Strategy and Operations).

His final appointment was Deputy Supreme Allied Command Europe (DSACEUR). On retirement he assumed the role of Lead Senior Mentor, Allied Command Operations.
