Strategy and Legislation Lead, Counter-Drones Unit, Office for Security and Counter-Terrorism UK Home Office

Sam Freck is a senior policy manager in the Home Office Counter-Drones Unit, which is responsible for the leadership and coordination of the UK Government’s domestic counter drone policy. Sam leads on key priorities including the Counter Unmanned Aircraft Strategy (published October 2019), legislation and supporting operational response. In this role, Sam works in collaboration with a range of government departments and agencies critical to counter drones policy, including the Department for Transport and the Police. Prior to joining the Counter-Drones Unit, Sam has worked across a range of areas in government including Counter Terrorism, Defence and EU Policy.
