2:00 PM WORKSHOP A: RESOURCES AT ‘THE OPERATIONAL EDGE’: DELIVERING POWER TO COMBAT FORCES IN AUSTERE ENVIRONMENTS
As combat units become more manoeuvrable, in some cases smaller and equipped with more sophisticated capabilities at their disposal, the need for reliable power supplies becomes essential or order to complete objectives and make a meaningful contribution to the combined operation. Most agree that a defining aspect of future operations will be the challenging environments in which they will take place and the strain that this will put on the provision of key resources such as power will be huge.
During this workshop participants will have the opportunity to take part in interactive scenarios and group discussions on the planning and delivery of power to austere future combat environments from the strategic through to the operational levels against a well organised, well equipped and agile adversary.
Following this workshop participants will have the chance to gather as a group and discuss findings, shared challenges and solutions.
