1:15 PM WORKSHOP A: RESOURCES AT ‘THE OPERATIONAL EDGE’: DELIVERING POWER TO COMBAT FORCES IN AUSTERE ENVIRONMENTS
As combat units become more manoeuvrable, in some cases smaller and equipped with more sophisticated capabilities at their disposal, the need for reliable power supplies becomes essential in order to complete objectives and make a meaningful contribution to the combined operation. Most agree that a defining aspect of future operations will be the challenging environments in which they will take place and the strain that this will put on the provision of key resources such as power will be huge.
During this workshop participants will have the opportunity to take part in interactive scenarios and group discussions on the planning and delivery of power to austere future combat environments from the strategic through to the operational levels against a well organised, well equipped and agile adversary.
Attend this workshop in order to:
· Gain deeper understanding of developing challenges in generating and distributing power to operational forces
· Ensure that your solutions are in line with the future energy requirements of Land Forces or that your Command structure is equipped with the knowledge to pre-empt and confront developing power capability gaps
· Help to shape discussions on this rapidly growing market with international experts from industry and the military
