Post-Conference Workshop - Thursday, 5 December 2019
Thursday, December 5th, 2019
The growing importance of maritime autonomous systems (Unmanned Surface Vehicle, Autonomous Underwater Vehicle, and Remotely Operated Vehicle) will characterize naval activity of the future. It’s estimated the global military unmanned maritime vehicles spending was $1.1 billion in 2018 according to Visiongain.
Networks of unmanned surface and underwater vessels are set to radically change the nature of maritime operations, and will become integral to naval capability programmes from mine hunting and augmenting submarine operations to supporting humanitarian efforts by delivering vital aid safely. The principal challenge will therefore be the integration of these autonomous systems into current force structures and vessels.
Benefits of Attending:
In this workshop, experts will share their vision on:
· analysis of key factors driving growth in military unmanned maritime vehicles
· technological breakthroughs impacting autonomous capabilities
· potential military applications of autonomous systems: how are governments and security agencies adapting their strategy
· insights into where autonomous systems are heading
