Vice Admiral (Retd) Luis Ordóñez

Former President of COTECMAR OPV Latin America Chairman

V. Adm (Retd) Ordóñez holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Arts in National Security as well as a Ph.D. in Education Science. He completed a 33 years of service in the Colombian Navy as a specialist in Naval Engineering holding all ranks from Ensign to Vice Admiral. During his Naval career he held important command and staff posts including Chief of Naval Material, and General Inspector of the Navy. In 2013 he was the President of COTECMAR, the Colombian Navy’s shipyard and retired from this position from the Navy. Shortly after retiring he became Director of the Regional Center for Strategic Studies in Security at the National War College in Bogota.
